This project, off Belfast’s Lisburn Road, is a 5 bedroom house conversion that house which had fallen into disrepair. The proposals for a 6no one bed apartments, was granted planning approval with the allowance to extend the roof to give a full 3 storey building in lieu of the 2.5 storey that exists.
Given our clients target market i.e. near Queens, City Hospital, and walking distance to the City Centre, the small single person micro- flat was deemed to comfortable and affordable. The design process involved preparing as range of design options to test the concepts and ultimately to test the planners resolve with a modern building to create a new language of architecture especially on this ‘book-end’ corner site.
