Our clients’ brief was to remodel the house to give more extended living space on the ground floor with open plan kitchen family dining space with better connection to the garden. The project involved wholesale alterations to the structure of the house. New steel beams were introduced to span distances were walls had been, creating a more flexible open plan internal space with the benefit of under floor heating. A new bedroom was added upstairs and the ‘box’ room became an en-suite for the main bedroom. Large sections of glass were added to the sunny gable elevation accessing onto a deck and lawns.
The tired semi-detached house has been transformed into a modern family home.
